Doing Good
All too often religion has a way of laying burdens on the very people it is called to serve—burdens of guilt, shame, and not feeling worthy in God’s eyes. But that is not the way of Jesus who invites us to live our lives in freedom and with generosity of spirit. He calls us to simply love God and others by doing good in the world, even when it is hard or costly.
Our vision at the Lighthouse is not just to do good, but to be the kind of people who would do good; the kind of people that would’t lay unnecessary requirements on people who want to follow after God. Simply put, we want to make it easier, not harder, for people to find God and follow in His ways. We want to do good, not out of a sense of obligation, but because God made us the kind of people who would want to do good, we are free to love God and our neighbor because we know we are loved by such a good God.
